In wellington they are having issues because no-one runs the event... it just kind of happens ....and there are a few people that react to council demands when the shit hits the fan. but then it is too late.

I can spin on the street here with no hassles... busking requires a licence... and to hold an event on council land means that I should get them onboard...

The main reason being... that for an event to come out from being an underground thing is very hard... imagen if we had done kiwiburn under the radar... then turned up this year and asked the council if we could do it again?

I would also like the Youth Development Initiative to front up, buy some gear and help with safety at the event.
This will ease my workload and give the council some ownership/credit for the event.. the benefits to that are pretty clear as far as sustainability goes.

Have a look on your council website... you may find that they could be of more assistance to you than be a hassle...
